In Osona there are shorter, more local, hiking trails scattered all over the county (indicated by the prefix “PR” e.g. PR C-40), in addition to four long-distance trails (prefix “GR”) that pass through it. This system of marked routes provides an excellent way to discover locations and monuments of great beauty and interest, as well as parts of the county far removed from urban agglomerations.
What do the markings indicate? Two stripes of paint: We’re on the right track
An “X”: “Dead end ahead” or “Wrong way”. Four stripes: Change of direction ahead
Stripes on the GRs are white and red; on PRs, they are white and yellow.
